Raleigh Ranked Second in Best Places to Live in US by WalletHub

Raleigh, North Carolina beats out West-coast cities like Seattle, Portland and San Francisco on a new ranking of the best places to live.

Using 31 metrics in areas such as general livability, health and education systems, economic growth and tax rates, personal financial website WalletHub ranked all cities with a population of 300,000 or more.

Raleigh ranks No. 2 overall and No. 1 in the education subcategory.

Charlotte is the only other North Carolina city on the list, ranking No. 19.
